Meet Your Director
Hello, my name is Miss Melynda, and I am proud to be the Centre Director at Helidon Early Learning. I began my journey in Early Childhood Education at the age of 16 and bring over 16 years of experience to my role, including 4 years in a leadership Role. Throughout my career I hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, I have built strong, secure relationships with children, families, educators, and the wider Helidon community.
I’m also a proud mother of two beautiful children who continue to inspire and support me through my nurturing and caring presence. My own experiences as a parent deeply influence my approach to creating a warm, loving, and safe environment for every child in our care.
My vision for Helidon Early Learning is to provide a home-like setting that is welcoming, inclusive, and respectful of all cultures, backgrounds, abilities, and family situations. I believe that when children, families, and educators feel safe, supported, and valued, true partnerships and friendships can flourish. I am committed to maintaining open and honest communication, where everyone feels comfortable to contribute, connect, and grow together.
As a Centre Director, I see my role as not only caring for children but also nurturing their physical, emotional, social, creative, and cognitive development. I aim to motivate and support each child in discovering who they are and how they relate to others. We provide children with the time to explore, the space to imagine, and a wide range of opportunities to participate in meaningful play every day using our environments as the 3rd teacher.

Orientation & Welcome!
We know that introducing your child to a new care environment is a big step, and we’re here to make the transition as smooth as possible! We’re here to support you as your child begins to build connections with their peers and our caring educators, navigate their new surroundings, and get familiar with daily routines. Our educators and Centre Director are available to answer questions and help your family to feel comfortable. We’re excited to support your little one on their journey with us!
Enrolment Pack
After your tour, you’ll receive an enrolment pack with everything you need to secure your child’s place at our centre. This pack includes important information about our programs, fees, and policies, along with the necessary forms to complete your child’s enrolment. Our team is here to guide you through the process and answer any questions—ensuring a smooth and easy transition for your family!
Child Care Subsidy
The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) percentage determines how much subsidy you receive based on your income. Centrelink calculates this percentage using the annual income and the number of children in your family who attend child care. We can assist you in navigating this process.

Our centre operates from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM Monday to Friday except Public Holidays, offering extended hours to accommodate a variety of schedules. Whether you need early drop-offs or later pick-ups, our team is here to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for your child throughout the day.

We provide everything your child needs for a comfortable and engaging day, including all learning materials and meals. Our centre ensures a nurturing and well-equipped environment so your child can learn, play, and grow with ease.

Our daily fees are competitive and the final parent gap fee depends on a range of factors including CCS eligibility, the age group, days of attendance and other subsidy entitlements. Once we have all these details, we can provide you with a more accurate estimate of your out of pocket fees prior to enrolment.

Yes! We offer a high-quality Kindy program designed to prepare children for their transition to school. Our program follows the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) focused on the 5 core areas of development for children during their early years. We adopt a play-based learning approach, guided by qualified educators, to support your child's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
